LSU coach John Brady says Tennessee Volunteer basketball coach Bruce Pearl lacks class
LSU basketball coach John Brady didn’t care for Tennessee Volunteer coach Bruce Pearl’s “antics” during Saturday night’s game, saying that Pearl has no class.
The LSU student section was razzing junior forward Dane Bradshaw all game and upped the heat with chants of “air ball” after Bradshaw missed badly on a 3-point attempt.
They really got lathered when Bradshaw gesterued and screamed at them after hitting a long 3-pointer on his next possession. They booed him loudly every time he touched the ball after that, and toward the end of the game, the LSU fans started chanting his name, urging Pearl to put him back in.
Pearl complied by walking Bradshaw to the scorer’s table and lifting his arm like he was the winner of a heavyweight fight.
“I think their students appreciated it,” Pearl said. “They were having fun with it.”
Indeed, the LSU student section was eating it up, laughing, booing, and chanting. Coach Brady, however, did not.
Brady said his comments were not meant for the media.
